Part L 2021 made the direction of travel clear enough: new build residential and most care home schemes go heat pump by default. The question facing a main contractor’s estimating team isn’t usually which heating technology to specify. It’s whether the M&E subcontractor they’re appointing can design the heating system themselves, carry PI insurance through to handover, and deliver it as part of a full mechanical package that includes fire suppression, ventilation and BMS — rather than as a standalone heating appointment that creates three more interfaces to manage.

Anders covers all three heating technologies most commonly specified on multi-residential and care home schemes: air source heat pumps (monobloc and split system), ambient loop with individual per-dwelling heat pumps, and heat pump hot water. We’re a Mitsubishi Electric approved ASHP installer. Our in-house design team produces the heating drawings in Revit alongside the ventilation, sprinkler and plumbing scopes on the same model, not in a separate consultant’s office that doesn’t talk to the install team.

Heating Is Part of the Full Mechanical Package 

We don’t price heating in isolation. On every Anders project, the heating and renewables scope is one element of a full mechanical appointment covering fire suppression, ventilation, plumbing, BMS and mechanical design. Where we Work

Anders delivers heating, fire suppression, ventilation, BMS, plumbing and mechanical design as a single subcontract package. New build housing, care homes and commercial schemes, on projects from £500k to £3.5m, with a sweet spot between £800k and £1.5m.

Our in-house design team works in Revit and BIM with PI-insured drawings from RIBA Stage 1 through to Stage 6 handover. Our fire suppression team designs and installs residential sprinkler systems to BS 9251:2021 in-house rather than subcontracting it on. We’re one of a small number of UK contractors actively delivering ambient loop heating systems for multi-residential developments. Constructionline Gold accredited, Mitsubishi Electric approved for ASHP, Gas Safe registered.
